NALP’s Young Professionals Network Forms Exclusive Partnership With STIHL
Earlier this month, the National Association of Landscaping Professionals (NALP) announced that power tool manufacturer STIHL is now the exclusive partner of the NALP’s Young Professionals Network. Through this partnership, STIHL will help provide resources to young people looking to establish and develop careers in the landscaping industry.
“STIHL is a great industry champion that is committed to supporting the next generation,” said Britt Wood, the NALP’s chief executive officer. “From their support of high school programs, to the National Collegiate Landscape Competition, to the Young Professionals Network, they are committed to helping build a strong future for the landscape industry.”
Anyone under 40 working in the landscaping industry can join the Young Professionals Network at no cost. It allows young landscaping professionals to learn more about their business while connecting with like-minded individuals at events or through the YPN Facebook group.
“We are extremely pleased to be part of the association’s new initiative,” said Roger Phelps, corporate communications manager at STIHL. “For more than 20 years STIHL has supported the NALP’s college outreach through the National Collegiate Landscape Competition, and this new network is a natural extension of the effort to find, develop and support young professionals entering the landscape industry. We look forward to being a part of this exciting initiative.”
This partnership is an important step in the expansion and development of the Young Professionals Network, which itself is still relatively new. The “Growing in the Green Industry” podcast, which the NALP describes as “a signature initiative of the Network,” was launched in May 2020 and just released its 39th episode.
